Steamed buns

For my husband, yeast steamed buns are a great memory from childhood. Steamed buns in my house, were completely absent and they were not known, I really don’t understand why. They are so deliciously easy to make and versatile.

Make sure you try them at least once 🙂 .

Steamed buns

  • 250 g flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • 25 g butter
  • 150 ml milk

  1. In 100ml of warm milk, mix the yeast with sugar and two tablespoons of flour.

  2. Set aside in a warm place for about 15 minutes. When the yeast swells, we add them to the flour, along with the egg and the rest of the milk and butter.

  3. Using a hand stand mixer, knead the dough to the moment to combine all the ingredients, and the dough will be silky smooth.

  4. Cover with a cloth and leave in a warm place for about 1 hour to rise.

  5. After rising, the dough is kneaded briefly so that it becomes elastic.

  6. Divide it into equal parts, from 8-12, and then under cover, leave the balls for about 10-15 minutes in a warm place to rise.

  7. Put the balls on a strainer over a pot with boiling water, under the cover, steam about 12-15 minutes.

  8. Serve with yogurt and a spoon of blueberry jam.
